2100mAh Digital Camera Battery is manufactured by Mega Cycle, which is
a subsidiary of Pacific Engergytech in China. The 2100mAh NiMH is
currently the highest capacity AA on the market. It is developed by
using Pacific Engerytech’s high tech Lithium ion cell technology by
producing ultra-thin Positive & Negative electrodes and separators, so
that more electrodes can be rolled and packed inside the small AA
sized cell, therefore, producing the higher capacity AA NiMH battery.

More Safety Features Added
There are also
many added safety features inside this high tech battery. Other than
the standard Safety Vent, a Safety Insulator is added to provide shock
protection in order to prevent a short in case the battery is dropped
in use or during shipping. There is also a Temperature Protector,
which can prevent any leakage or explosion caused by a short from an
electrical appliance. A special alkaline-based Low Corrosion
Electrolyte is used so that even if it comes in contact with the human
skin, it will not cause burn or damage to the skin immediately.

Specifically Designed For Use with Digital Camera
iPowerUS AA Ni-MH
2100mAh Battery is the world’s only rechargeable battery specifically
designed for use with the digital camera. Its design is different
from the general type NiMH battery on the market today. The digital
camera uses less energy in the standby or preview mode, but uses more
energy during picture taking or flash mode. Therefore, it is designed
to use 0.2C (lower energy) for the preview mode and 0.5C (higher
energy) for picture taking or flash mode. This is why it will last
longer than other general type battery in the digital camera. Some
users have reported taking 490 pictures each charge using a Nikon 990
or lasted more than 4 hours using Nikon Coolpix 5700 taking pictures
continuously. The shelf life is also longer and it can retain energy
longer than other general type NiMH battery.
Both the charging rate
and discharge rate of the iPowerUS AA NiMH Digital Camera Battery is
between 0.2C ~ 0.5C. At 0.2C discharge rate, the capacity is at
2100mAh, at 0.5C discharge rate, the capacity is around 2010mAh. Two
special Fast Smart Chargers FC-301 (2 channel) and FC-501 (4 channel)
are designed using the negative delta V technology so that they will
charge the high capacity NiMH batteries to the most optimal level.

Retain Energy Longer and Extra Long Shelf Life
One thing that is
common to all types of rechargeable batteries is called “self
discharge” where the cell actually loses power as it sit after being
recharged. Shelf life of most NiMH rechargeable batteries is 3 to 6
months. IPowerUS AA NiMH 2100mAh lasts up to twice as long as other
ordinary NiMH rechargeable batteries.
Under normal
usage, iPowerUS AA Ni-MH 2100mAh Battery can be used without
discharge. 30 days after charging, it will retain a voltage of 1.2V.
180 days after charging, it still can retain a voltage of over 1.0V,
this retention period is longer than most general type NiMH battery on
the market today.
