USER AND TECHNICIAN |

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Here is the main menu for QuicFix 3.0. Of course the title bar contains the main menu items yet the splash center is designed to get you there in a hurry. A POP-UP menu is an express lane to several popular radio sections like the RCI and Cobra 29. One click and you are looking at the first complete repair service data for the RCI type export radios. | ||||
| * QuicFix 3.0 - A repair program made for the CB
enthusiast and CB radio technician. QuicFix 3.0 is the second in a series of CB repair
utilities on CD ROM. QuicFix 3.0 features specific repair and modification data for
popular legal CB radios. There are over 170 menu selections covering over 25 popular legal
CB radios. The program has extensive theory and practical circuit data to enhance any user
or technician's ability to repair CB's. Most techniques require only the most basic of
tools. Basic electronic calculations are performed with ease. Antenna design is covered by
a design page for making a Yagi beam up to 8 elements. |
||||
| A Beginners Only section has been provided for
those just getting started and not yet able to work component values from memory.
QuicFix 3.0 requires Windows 95 or greater only . System must have 8 meg of memory and 12 meg of free disk space for the express installation. A full install requires 100 megabytes of disk storage. This large requirement is for 80 + megs of schematics and diagrams. The Express install leaves all the large bitmap files on the CD-ROM. The full 100 meg installation to your harddrive will provide a much faster image file access. The program is strictly mouse driven except for a few number entry sections in the mathematical / formula portion. Repair and theoretical data is included on popular legal CB models. Although there are many brands and models only the most popular are covered. Repair techniques are presented that will provide general repair data for even the casual user. The user should have no trouble using these methods to repair any CB. * * * * * * * * * * * * * Wish I could of had something like this when I was learning all about PLLs. The PLL Simulator gives the user a continous readout of VCO, PLL mixer and offset frequencies in real time along with the PLL active program pins shown in red.
Five types of PLLs are available. This covers all the popular AM/SSB radios of the past and present. QuicFix 3.0 has another innovative repair feature for the user or technician that will allow greater freedom from hardcopy manuals. The Component View section in the Repair Quide presents a close-up look at the selected component. Voltage for the device is shown right there on the view. TX voltage is on the bottom and not visible here.
When the user selects
the component in the left box, the view window presents the device and voltage with the
device centered in the window. Here you see the 2nd Mixer, Q8, for the 2950 displayed. Last minute work was done to provide the user with a QuixFix notes section to easily document your own QuicFix notes. QuicFix 3.0 Feature List: RADIOS COVERED - Detailed data.
